Team 200: Moving Fresno Grand Opera to World Class!
In the fall of 2007, ten dedicated and long-time season subscribers came together to form the founding leaders of Fresno Grand Opera’s Team 200. The Team consists of more than 200 committed, current opera subscribers who volunteer their time to generate greater loyalty and increased audience participation with Fresno Grand Opera.
Together, The Team works to develop and implement the vision of moving Fresno Grand Opera to a world class level. It does this by developing and supporting existing and future relationships among Fresno Grand Opera audience members.
Team 200 members participate in many “behind the scenes” events to gain a better understanding of what it takes to produce opera at a world class level. The Team attends rehearsals, “meet and greet” functions with the principal artists and many informal training sessions where they have fun, dine and socialize. Ultimately, Team 200 believes that to achieve growth for the institution, the opera produced for the stage must merit that growth. It must be great!
“We work to touch everything that Fresno Grand Opera does in the context of providing input into the effort of becoming world class,” said R. Emeterio Castro, one of the founding team leaders of Team 200. “We look at everything from the viewpoint of the audience -- the artists, chorus, stage scenery, orchestra, …even lighting. We understand that The Team will be an important element in growing the Fresno Grand Opera audience, and we want to insure that the opera we see on the stage will support that growth.”
